“Home is where l want to be but l guess l’m already there” ~ Talking Heads

My whole life I never really had a home. I remember being so stressed out when holiday’s would come around because I didn’t know where I was going to go.

Now I get to walk through a door everyday to a home that is safe, cozy, and peaceful. A place of gathering, a sanctuary, a Buddha bed and breakfast as our neighbor calls it. A place that is full of life ⚘

Near the river, tucked in the foothills, away from town by close enough.

I often find myself peering through the sunroom windows, filling my eyes wide with bright light and curious views. When I look around me I see deer butts lining the fence as they munch on fallen birdfeed, competing with squirrels for the hardiest seed. The sunflowers stretch 7 feet steep as Morning Glory’s wrap + twist up towards the yellow mammoth petals that protect the boundaries of the yard. Gazing west roll foothills through the scooped out valley cliffs, a barrier to the only scenic river. The sillohette of sleeping tree branches.

Kick your feet up in the red hammock underneath the hummingbirds that vibrate through the leaves of the crab apple tree. Swinging in between the vibration of the sweet bird.

A story of a decade - about what I see in my surroundings- when I look outside I see deer butts lining the fence, sunflowers that stretch above the…foothills, sunsets, blue jays, birds, red cliffs, river, trail, watson lake, horsetooth mountains, squirrels hanging from light lines to eat the bird feed, deer on their back feet, hummingbirds buzzing, red hammock, garden, sacred ceremonies under the tree, bohemian wonderland, a buddha bed + breakfast as our neighbor calls it.

What is Fort collins: lights in winter, snow, floating the river/ lake, hiking trails, breweries, Mishawaka, CSU, Larimer County, established, comfort, home

Fresh cooked meals (fried rice, caprese, salmon, wood fired pizza, charcutarie boards) with vegetables from our garden, 10 second hugs, friends are family, culture- hugging strangers, hello on the trails, more plants than you can count, kitty kats, doggos, flowers, pool games, dinners, working from home in the sunroom, the SUNROOM- my favorite place, cannabis plants 8 ft tall- our neighbor calls it a Buddha BNB, the FORT, rainbows that shine through the window when I wake up, art at every corner. roommates, sanctuary. Oasis. Home inside our home.

Very possible this would All wrapped in one weekend.
